All items MUST be returned in like new condition.

HOW TO RETURN AN ITEM FOR REFUND:

  1. Send your return back to us for a refund (in like-new condition - you cannot step off the rug - see below). Please include your receipt or at least your name and phone number so we know who you are. To keep our prices as low as possible: you pay for return shipping. Please do not use UPS or FedEx unless you have to. They are very expensive.
  2. That’s it! 
  3. About 2-4 days after we receive your return you will see a refund for the cost of the items you returned.

HOW TO GET A DIFFERENT SIZE OR COLOR:

  1. Place a new order online (we do not keep your credit card info because it is safer for you - so you can't just email us and say "send a different size").
  2. Follow steps 1-3 above.
  3. IMPORTANT: This can get expensive because the cost of shipping has skyrocketed recently and shoes are very heavy. We're not in a hurry to get these back so if you want to try a different size feel free to keep the 1st pair until the 2nd pair arrives. That way if you don't like the fit of either pair you can return them at the same time. Save money and time!

WHAT TO SEND WITH YOUR RETURN:

1. JUST SEND US YOUR PACKING SLIP & PLEASE TELL US WHY YOU ARE RETURNING THE ITEMS (too big, too small, too wide, etc.)
No packing slip? No problem! Just include a note with your order number, reason for return (too big, too small, etc.), name, phone number, and email address.

  • You are of course responsible for the package until it reaches our address so please track it.
  • Returns are usually processed within 4 business days after they’re received.
  • We will refund the purchase price (minus the original cost of shipping) to your original payment method. Please see below about why we don't offer free return shipping.
  • NOTE: WE ARE NOT A SHOE RENTAL BUSINESS - IF YOU WEAR OUR SHOES THEN RETURN THEM TO US WE WILL SIMPLY PUT THEM IN THE "GIVE TO STUDENTS" PILE AND WILL NOT REFUND YOUR MONEY. Look at the bottom of the shoes you receive. They are brand new. If you return them with dirty soles we simply cannot mail them to another customer.
  • Your financial institution should credit your account within 3-5 business days.
  • If your return is received more than 90 days past the date of purchase (60 days for PayPal), it is unlikely that we will be able to issue a refund to your original payment method. We will try, but this is something we cannot control. If we cannot process your refund that arrives after 90 days, we will be happy to issue you store credit.

ABOUT SIZING:

We apologize if what you bought did not fit you!! 

We only have a 6-10% return rate. 
Industry standard is 30%. 

WE ACTUALLY TRY THESE ON DOZENS OF PEOPLE BEFORE WE POST SIZING INFORMATION ON OUR SITE BECAUSE WE DON'T EVER WANT TO HEAR "These aren't the size you said they were."
So if you got the wrong size for your feet please remember: Shoes by mail is, at best, an inexact science. Our incredibly low return rate means that we work our tails off to make sure that we get our sizing information right. And our return rate shows that we are very good at it. We apologize if you are one of the 6-10% of the population that does not fit our shoes the way the other 90-94% of our customers do.

Yes, somebody’s paying for it… and it’s YOU.
Sites that offer “Free Return Shipping” are charging you for other people’s returns. The cost is included their price. You are paying it whether or not you make a return.

WE DON’T THINK THAT’S FAIR!

We keep our prices as low as possible and you only pay for the shipping you use. Our return rates are less than 10%. This is how we keep our prices so low.

We help you choose the correct size by including sizing tips for every style. They are based on carefully monitored sizing tests conducted on real dancers before we post them on our site.

GENERAL INFORMATION ABOUT RETURNS

  • EXCLUSIONS - The following items cannot be returned:
    • Any item that has been used or altered or is not in their original, unused/unworn condition.
    • Gift Cards: Gift cards are non-refundable.
    • Merchandise purchased with one of our gift cards will be subject to our normal return policy. Gift Card refunds will be credited back to the gift card.
  • PROBLEMS? WE STAND BEHIND OUR PRODUCTS!
    • If there's any kind of defect that shows up within 6 months we will absolutely pay for the repair - we just want you to send us a photo so we can figure out what happened.   • ABOUT SPECIALTY FOOTWEAR:
    • We sell specialty footwear - they do not wear like your ski boots.
    • Please consider them "equipment" - not the last pair of shoes you will ever buy. If they were made to last forever they would be hiking boots.
    • Depending on the amount of abuse they get, they should last a year or two. The uppers usually wear out before the soles do but sometimes suede-soled shoes catch on something and the suede comes off a little - you or a cobbler will need to re-glue them. Our raw leather soled shoes are literally made to get as close as possible to the shoes that swing dancing was invented on. That means minimalist and comfortable. The kids in Harlem probably wore their shoes until you could tell what color their socks were by looking at the bottom! So these are not $300 dress shoes built like a tank. They are the correct equipment if you want your dancing to look authentic.
